Sew Cherry Wonky Cross Quilt top

The quilt top is done and I'm trying to decide what to put on the back... Do I cover it with yardage from Sew Cherry?? or a simple solid on the back?? The front is so busy, that a colorful but neutral backing might be a little more soothing... a yard of pink cherries though would be awfully sweet!

Just sold a baby quilt on etsy yesterday- I'm very happy. It's on its way to a little girl in Nebraska :)

Japanese - x - and scrappy quilt block

Where have I been? I missed the boat on this fun block! Had to try it out today - what fun. Looks time consuming for a whole quilt, but totally worth it.

Blogger's BOM Quilt Along

Thanks to Canton Village Quilt Works, I am starting a BOM, and I am very excited! The first block design came out this morning and I got right to it. I call it "September" since a new design will be released each month. Can't wait until October 25th...

Using the wonky cross block tutorial by Oh, Fransson! and diving into one of my very favorite fabric lines "Sew Cherry" by Lori Holt.... how fun and sweet is this quilt going to be?!?

A Hoopla Kaleidoscope Baby quilt

Here is the finished quilt - we went for a long drive in the car yesterday and I was able to get about 4 hours of hand stitching done! I loved using my new Kaleido ruler for this, and am amazed by how many other looks this pattern can have when paired with different color combo - as seen in google images and flickr. I really look forward to doing another and going for a completely different look.

Anyway, this one is for sale in my shop!

A Farm Fresh baby quilt

Boy, do I love this Farm Fresh fabric from Riley Blake. This little patchwork quilt is going in my shop for some farm and animal loving girl or boy.

A new Hampshire Quilt for a friend who moved away...

Camping, skating, canoeing, apples, blueberries, pumpkins, the seacoast.... New Hampshire....

Using my new Kaliedo Ruler and my Hoopla stash :)

Five blocks done, and probably 4 more to go for a baby quil ttop - a little wild,
but baby's are intrigued by high contrast, right?!

Cross Quilt

or plus quilt - not sure what to call it! But, I think it's one of  my favorite quilts. I just adore the fabric, and I backed it up with some Ikea fabric I picked up a year or so ago. And red and teal has to be a new favorite color combo.

A new project and some blocks...

I started these with my old machine, and excited to now be sewing with the new machine! It's making my sewing life so much easier...

The New Machine!!!

The Janome DC2011 - still in the box, sitting on the table. I'm too scared to open it! It came with 17 free lessons or something like that, so eventually I'll know my way around it. I'm very excited!

Janome 7330

So, I have an "old" Brother sewing machine and it's been acting very wonky for a while, so today when the fabric I was working with wouldn't catch on the feeder and the foot lever wouldn't go all the way up, I finally took it to a Vac and Sew shop... In the 10 years I've had it, it has never been serviced.... Anyway, the nice lady at the shop estimated it would be about $120 to have it fixed, but advised that I find a nice way to dispose of the machine instead... I've wanted a new machine for a while, so she showed me what she had for sale. This Janome is what I/m thinking of. Any thoughts??

Flower Market Quilt

I love this fabric! It's Flower Market by Martha Negley. This quilt top measures approx 50x70 - awaiting backing... thinking a light pink. Just need some free time from the boys (last week they were all in camp and I had 3 hours a day to myself to sew this up :)

Sherbet Pips!

This was a quick quilt to put together, and thankfully I had two long drives in the car to tie it all while hubby drove :)

Sherbet Pips

Sewing up my first jelly roll, strip quilt and Sherbet Pips. It's such cute fabric line. I'm thinking it should be backed with warm flannel or minky, and tied with yarn - in keeping with the scarf theme. A nice quilt for a fall baby...

Summer House Baby Girl Quilt

This quilt has sat unfinished in my closet for a few months, and I just took it down, and added some little button flowers in between the squares. I just love the colors and the floral fabrics - Dena Design's "McKenzie" - so pretty and soothing. Perfect for summer snoozes... I appologize for two of the pictures coming in sideways - I didn't photograph them that way!! :)
