It just "sew" happens that I had $47 left in my paypal account, and this morning I found a mother's day weekend coupon code at Sew Mama Sew for 15% off everything in your cart, and finally the long awaited Sew Cherry was available at their store... I bought a quarter yard of each (minus 3) fabrics in the line, and minus the 15%, pluss shipping came to $47.80!! I hope the rest of my day goes that well. It's going to be a CRAZY long day with boy activities. Off to the first baseball game of the season!

What the heart and eyes want!!
yum yum yum... The gnome fabric is to die for (I'm crazy for gnomes) And the Sunbonnet Sue fabric is very timely as I'm starting to work on a new quilt with a Sue in the center, surrounded by butterflies and flowers... and the Sew Cherry is just awesome. I've been waiting a while for this line to come out - makes my knees buckle... Hopefully I will make these all mine :)

Birdhouse Baby Quilt
This one is finally done, and listed in my etsy shop. I love it, and wish I had a baby girl to give it to! Perhaps if it doesn't sell right away, I'll tuck it away in the attic and save it for a grand daughter... I'm crossing my fingers (but not for atleast 20 years since my boys are only 7, 4 and 3!)

Jessica's quilt - done!
I finished this comissioned quilt last night and shipped it off this morning to its new home in Florida. I wish I could have fit in the shipping box with it - it's way too cold here! Spring, where are you???

Victory Garden!
I am an anglophile. For a while I was lucky to visit England every 2 years over a 12 year period - to study abroad for a semester in college, work in London for a summer, hike the Lake District with my Dad, and to see my Dad's choral group sing at Royal Albert Hall...My last trip was 11 years ago when I went with my sister and we cried across the country having just come off broken engagements - both of us!! Anyway, I've been really, really itching to go, and since we weren't invited to the royal wedding, hubby and I have decided to go next year to celebrate our 10 yr. anniversary. Anyway, I've been trying to put off the purchase of this pattern, http://www.mkquiltdesigns.com/pattern%20pages/p-victorygarden.html but couldn't hold out any longer. I don't think there's anything cuter than the Union Jack. The quilt will be made, and may not look this pretty, but it will be loved, and remind me that a trip across the pond is coming!!

Play School Quilt
I finally finished this one up, and it's on etsy!

And I'm happy to report that I could photograph it outside because it's finally spring here and our snow is 99.9% gone!!!!!! - Of course it's going to be 47 and raining tommorrow, but the last few days have been great and the boys are getting lots of outside time!!

Susan's quilt
Here is my latest project (and picture of my dog :) - a quilt for my mother-in-law's Reiki studio. This is my first time working with Batiks - something I probably won't do again, but I think it's turning out nicely.

Block 1-16 ~ Block-a-Palooza
block 16
blocks 1-16
I'm all done, but not quite... I fear I used too many fabrics here and they don't all work together... If I'd just stuck with just Flower Sugar, I'd be all set, but I added in Delilah (which has been okay) and Red Rose Farm, and the colors are just off. So, I think I shall be redoing a bunch of the squares before sewing them all together!!

good bye, my love....
Next up is a throw size quilt for my mother in law's Reiki studio. I will be working with batiks, which she gave me today, for the first time. It will be quite a departure from what I'm used to!

Block 15 ~ Block-a-Palooza
This one might be my favorite. I'm a sucker for whirlygigs, and this one was so easy to make. I see a whole quilt made up of this pattern in my near future!! Just one more clock to go!

A sailboat quilt....
Here's the top - it measures approx 50x80, so it'll be great for cuddling with. Now I just have to make the back for it, though I don't know what it's going to look like yet. Hopefully the perfect fabric will be on sale for $2.50 a yard at Joann Fabrics tomorrow!!

Block 14!
Can it be tre that there are only 2 more blocks to go? I will miss this project, and hope I can find another sew along when this one is complete. What a great learning experience it has been!

The first block for the sailboat quilt...
This is the start of a throw size quilt that I'm making for my inlaws to give friends who recently became grandparents to a little boy. This will be in the grandparent's home for when the baby comes to visit. It's a baby quilt, but without all the baby colors, so hopefully will make everyone happy, and can stay out, even when the baby isn't around. Now if I can get this all done by March 20th when I see the inlaws next to celebrate MY first baby turning 7!!

Block 11 (and my new couch and ottoman :)
Slowly catching up on the block-a-palooza blocks. Still behind, but if I hadn't been able to sneak this one in this morning while the boys were at school I'd be three behind! Anyway, I don't think the block photographs well - it's much nicer in person. Funky, but I like it. And the new furniture, I love!
Birdhouse quilt.... in pieces...
It's all sewn together, but I haven't been able to get a great picture of it in one piece... I have started to embroider it, but it's going to take a while. I think it's a good project to do while watching tv with hubby after the boys go to bed. And then once the front is done, I'm very excited to make one more applique on the back - inspired by Cath Kidston's "Sew book". What a pretty book - makes me want to jump on a plane for London...
