Two more tops done!

I'm starting to panic about the school year ending in the not so distant future and not having time alone to sit at my machine and sew until late August... so I think I'm stock piling tops for the summer to hand quilt at night after they go to bed.

Here are two more new tops...

Strawberry Fields fabric, tumbler style...

And here's a monochromatic top - well, it's red and pink, but close enough. And there's just a touch of green. I made up the relatively simple pattern as I sewed it and had so much fun. Included are some little pinwheels I made a while back.

Am I done?

It's measuring approx 44x46 now - does it need another (colorful) border? Does it need a pom pom fringe (even though I said I would never do another pom pom fringe!!) and if so, what color fringe? White pom poms? - If I can get them on sale, then that might be the way to go... The backside will probably be a bright flannel solid... hmmmm.... I think I have a couple decent coupons to Jo-Ann Fabrics, that may help me decide.

Boys Will be Boys

I finished hand quilting this a couple of nights ago and just listed it in my shop. I hope it will find a new home!  http://www.etsy.com/listing/97176722/boys-will-be-boys-quilt

And these are my boys :)

2 quilt tops done!

And...

A VW bug - one of my dream cars...

My husband and I are going to London for 4 days in about a month,
and I'm going to ride on one of those red double decker buses!!

I'm back!

I didn't go anywhere though... Here are a few pictures of what I've been working on over the last month...

I've been making two car quilts - this is the second one, in progress. The first one had very cute car appliques in those white squares, including a red double decker bus, but of course I forgot to photograph it before selling it... I will finish this one up soon.

I bought a 60 degree triangle template a week or so ago, so have been cutting and sewing triangles as well. I started laying these out with every other triangle being white, so the patterned ones looked like bunting, but I changed my mind right before I started sewing. I will get to that version at a later date, as well as play with the hexigon shape the triangles make. So many quilt ideas... not enough time!

I also finished making star crossed blocks and made a healthy sized crib quilt. I'm hand quilting every white space and around every cross, and I fear it may take me forever, but the effort and time will be worth it.
